DAY ONE - Part One

What a day!  First of all, your prayers were effective.  I had mostly sunshine and no rain.  What a delightful surprise that was!  Let's see how you can do tomorrow as I head to Salt Lake City for a mid day appointment and then on to Helper, UT, just north of Price to get a new set of tires! Today I covered 480 miles.  I left home at just after 7:30 and met with Dan Appel in Auburn by 9:00.  Dan has been a friend for several years and I really enjoyed talking with him.  He has been at the Auburn Church for a year and a half.  I won't tell you all about our conversation because then you won't want to read the book.  We are about the same age (old!) and we are both looking at what we want to do with our last years of ministry.  Fun thoughts, and Dan is an outside the box thinker.  Well, that was only 85 miles so then the real ride began. I wish I had been able to take the time to get some scenic pictures along the way.  Going over Donner Pass and on into Reno is certainly a gorgeous ride on a sunny day.  I enjoyed it.  Wish you were there.
