Well, here it is and it's time to go. I'm dashing this off just 20 minutes before I have to get on the road. Would it be wimpy of me to say I have the jitters? The weather report doesn't look good for the first three days once I get over Donner Pass. Our daughter is having surgery this morning and my wife is having surgery on Wednesday. Bad timing huh? Last minute details always leave you wondering if you really have everything you need and if you do, where in the world did I put it? You'd think on a bike there wouldn't be that many places, but things are packed tight. The absolute hardest part right now was just sending my sweetheart off to work and having that last hug and kiss. We don't like to be apart and we've already been separated for three weeks when I went to Mozambique. I know, I am the one who signed up for all of this. Just pray that the results will prove to be worth the pain and that we all will be safe. We have all placed ourselves in God's hands and so we'll just stay there.
First stop today is with Dan Appel in Auburn, just beyond Sacramento. Then I'll stop in Winnemucca to take a couple of pictures of the church there and then on to Elko for the evening where I'll be meeting one of the local elders as the pastor is out of town. Tomorrow it's on to Salt Lake City and then south into the Zion and Bryce Canyon areas.
Now, without further delay, I'm on the road. Postings should be daily, but that is all subject to internet connectivity. If you don't see a new post, don't worry. And now, in the words of Tiny Tim, "God bless us everyone!"

Happy trails, my friend! Fred and I will be certain to keep you and Ingrid in our prayers. I've never known a little bad weather to keep you down! I have calls into Ingrid already to see how I can help this week. Godspeed and God bless!
